I have been drawn to the very man that Jack Lewis confided was his “master,” and G. K. Chesterton admits “made a difference to my whole existence.” Even such notables as W. H. Auden, J. R. R. Tolkien, and Madeleine L’Engle were greatly inspired by him.
While browsing ebay this week, I happened upon a rare edition of Wilfrid Cumbermede (circa 1870-1880), MacDonald ‘s little-known semi autobiographical work.
I felt blessed to find this at a fraction of the collector’s cost, proving once again what kind of finds you can pick up on ebay for next to nothing.
Happy hunting!
