Reuters Interview // Behind The Scenes Video

Jennifer filmed and edited this brief look into the Reuters Interview last Thursday. I think she did a masterful job and is really impressing me as a real force in the realm of video. She has no formal training and a marvelous eye.

And as far as what I said? Well, I have to leave you hanging, don’t I? (Plus, that’s what authors do!)

…you’ll just have to catch the full interview in November.

Reuters Interview a Success!

 ch_manhattan_street.jpg

Jennifer (my wife), Natalie (my sister) and Lora (wife’s best friend) ch_reuters_crew.jpgleft for Syracuse airport yesterday at 4am, caught a flight to Laguardia in Queens and took the subway in to lower Manhattan. Purpose? An interview with Reuters TV to discuss The Lion Vrie and Christian Fantasy. The interview went extremely well, all thanks to Natash Iranis who was genuinely interested in the genre, and I believe walked into it with minimal-if-no preconceived bias. A big  thank you to camera-man Sven from Sweden; your kindness and BIG heart made us all smile! (Right: Me, Sven and Natasha).
ch_rich_fb.jpg I also got to see my dear friend and sword-brother of the pen, Wayne Thomas Batson, who also flew in for the interview. We were filmed in the Forbidden Planet on the corner of 13th & Broadway, a marvelous location for a shoot (me and store manager Rich Bendall pictured at left). Jennifer is editing a behind the scenes road journal of the day which you can catch on the website in a few days. We’ll be posting the link to the main interview in about two weeks when it’s completed.

For those that don’t know, Reuters is to TV what the Associated Press is to newspapers. The entire story on Christian Fantasy will air worldwide on the Reuters News Network and be serviced to any local station that uses Reuters feeds.

Thanks for reading!

Reuters TV Interview

Just sending out a quick request for prayer. Flying out first thing in the morning for an interview with Retuers TV in Manhattan with my buddy Wayne Batson. Fortunately I have a crew going with me: Jenny (wife), Natalie (sister) & Lora (wife’s best friend); they’ll either think I’m a Mormon or one rich author. Regardless, I would like the right words to say, as well as the favor of my Father in the midst of the traveling and contacts we’ll be making.

Many thanks!

Youth Fest 2007 Video – Elkton, MD

Everybody loves videos, n’est pas? So my beautiful wife made this one: A recap of our trip to Maryland back in August. We took a small group of leaders and teens from 33 Live to Youth Fest 2007 in Elkton, MD hosted by Pleasant Hill Worship Center. For all those that went, may you be reminded of fond memories; for all those that didn’t, here’s what you royally missed…

October Update

A number of people have been writing in, inquiring about everything from tour dates to he status of Book III of The White Lion Chronicles. I’m obviously flattered by all the interest, although the “book III” comments are all about you! (And you know it!).

Right now, Jennifer is at a wedding in Ohio. Tomorrow we’ll be ministering at Resurrection Life in Cheektowaga, NY (Buffalo area). And after service we drive to Rochester to sing in a dear friend’s wedding. (Tiz’ the season for wedding bells I guess!).

The long awaited end of TWLC trilogy will have to wait yet a bit longer. I am only about 150 pages into the concluding book and have long passed my April 1st and September 1st deadlines. Trust me, I’m as frustrated as you are. Because I only use limited out-lining when writing my books, I’m as clueless as you are as to how everything ends.

Of course I do know how the first 150 pages read…

Muwhahahahahaha… [evil author laugh]

Unless I get a burst of free time (which is highly unlikely), I’m sad to say that you won’t be seeing Book III until Fall ’08. My only promise is that I will keep you updated right here and give you lots of tantalizing goodies along the way (as my publisher allows, of course).

So what’s been keeping me so busy?

If you haven’t stopped by DIBOR lately, check it out www.dibor.org. Our new two-year discipleship school is well underway, and with enrollees from Burma, Germany and Costa Rica, as well as the United States, it’s extremely exciting.

We’re also starting a new pizza buffet franchise in downtown Watertown in an effort to affect not only the spiritual climate of our county, but also the business culture.

33 Live, our church’s Teen & College Ministry, has also been seeing some amazing growth. With over 75 students coming out weekly in just the first four weeks of the new school year, and over 25 leaders in our weekly Sunday night training, we are preparing for our move into downtown Watertown this winter. We’re seeing God doing some amazing things, including inspire worship meetings that go past midnight! Check out our new website at www.33live.org.

We’ll be posting some new videos and pics shortly so please stay tuned. Thanks again for reading and spending some time with me today.
